TIMES HONGKONG, DENPASAR – Tuksedo Studio, a local workshop in Bali managed to build lots of variety of classic car. This makes the local classic car lovers doesn't need to go abroad to get their most wanted old and gold cars.

The president of MPR RI (People’s Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia) and IMI (Indonesian Motor Association), Bambang Soesatyo expressed his appreciation for Tuksedo Studio Bali for its successful endeavors during the first road test stage for its numerous types of legendary classic cars it has manufactured. He even ordered one of the classic cars for his collection.

The road test involved a red Porsche 550 Spyder owned by Bambang Soesatyo, a Porsche 356 Coupe, and a Porsche 356 Speedster which are owned by the other customers of Tuksedo Studio.

“The first stage of the road test took the route from Tuksedo Studio workshop in Gianyar through the Denpasar region and many other regions in Bali. In Tuksedo Studio, the road test which consists of trial runs and quality control will be carried out repeatedly to evaluate various aspects that need to be fine-tuned to achieve customer satisfaction and maximum performance on the street,” said Bambang Soesatyo after his visit to Tuksedo Studio in Gianyar, Bali on Friday (9/12/2022).

Also present during the road test, the executive boards of Tuksedo Studio, including the Founder Pudji Handoko, the Co-Founder Laksmana Gusti, and the Marketing Director Djoko Iman Santoso.

The 20th president of MPR RI and the ex-president of Commission III of DPR RI (People’s Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia) for the law, human rights, and security sector, Bambang Soesatyo also explained that classic vehicles have a unique charm of their own. Besides the fact that they are no longer manufactured by the original manufacturer, its limited availability, and also owned only by the world’s top collectors, original classic cars fetch very high prices. For instance, Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing which was made from aluminum alloy was successfully sold for USD4 million. The existence of Tuksedo Studio which manufactures such legendary classic cars can be an alternative answer for classic car enthusiasts to fulfill their dream of driving one of such legendary vehicles at a somewhat more affordable price with the competitive quality compared to the original or the other recently manufactured cars.

Besides the 300SL Gullwing and 550 Spyder ordered by Bambang Soesatyo, as a form of support for the creativity and innovation of the Indonesian youths, Tuksedo Studio also works on some other legendary cars such as Porsche 356 Speedster, Porsche 356 Coupe, Toyota 2000GT, BMW 507, Aston Martin DB5, and Ferrari 250 GTO. Each car is manufactured manually using its respective original materials following its respective model as race-winning classic cars with a long history of achievements in various legendary championships which also comes with a high-value aesthetic, which explains its high prices.

“The existence of Tuksedo Studio is not only appreciated by IMI, but also by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno. IMI and the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy agreed to cooperate in supporting the automotive modification industry, in both forms of car kits and car restorations like Tuksedo Studio as a part of strengthening the backbone of the national economy,” said Soesatyo.

Bambang Soesatyo also explained that the Ministry of Industry had sent a team to visit Tuksedo Studio to assess the operation and provide the required support. The Ministry of Industry of Indonesia had considered Tuksedo Studio Bali as a positive reinforcement for the development of the automotive industry in Indonesia.

“The workers of Tuksedo Studio Bali consist of locals from the surrounding regions in Bali with an average bachelor’s degree. Tuksedo Studio also opens the opportunity for the youth for college students to participate in internship programs. The workshop location in Bali also makes Tuksedo Studio a sport-automotive tourism destination that may attract tourists from all around the globe,” said Soesatyo. (*)
