TIMES HONGKONG, MALANGWarung Pedas Tangkilsari (WPT) always attracts the attention of food vloggers and spicy food hunters. This restaurant, which is located on Jalan Raya Tangkilsari, Tajinan, Malang Regency, is indeed a paradise for those who like spicy Indonesian food.

At Warung Pedas Tangkilsari, a variety of all-spicy dishes with a wide selection of side dishes are here to raise your appetite. Starting from chicken, goose, cow's trotters, and various processed seafood, to various fried foods.

Lots of kinds of Indonesian dishes that are savory, coconut milk and spicy have indeed become the iconic dish of Warung Pedas Tangkilsari.

Warung Pedas Tangkilsari has been visited several times by several prominent local food vloggers such as Farida Nurhan, Next Carlos, and Ria SW who have come directly to Malang to try the delicious dishes they serve.

Even though it has gone viral, Warung Pedas Tangkilsari has never specifically implemented online promotions through any media and is not available in online food ordering applications.
“Later people are afraid of being disappointed, yes, if the food really comes from here. Right now a lot of shoot (imitate). So let people themselves come here directly,” explained the owner of the Warung Pedas Tangkilsari, Burhan Ali to TIMES Indonesia, Tuesday (15/11/2022).

Visitors who come will be spoiled with a buffet style of dining. Visitors will choose their own menu of food and drinks served directly from the pans lined up. There are spicy chicken, spicy duck, fish head curry, spicy fish kothokan, stir fried clams, bothok, spinach vegetables, and so on.

Some of the menus provided are also non spicy, so visitors who don’t like spicy can still enjoy the dishes available.

The the cashier will calculate the total for the entire order. These dishes can be eaten with white rice or corn rice with urap vegetables on the side. If it’s still not good enough, visitors can add fried foods such as tofu, corn pancakes, mendol or the spicy tempeh, vegetable fritters, and others.

For the menu served, Burhan said it could change every day, depending on the available raw materials. “The fish is not always there. Then if the goose is isn't available, we replace it with duck,” he explained.

The price of each menu is quite affordable. For spicy dishes such as chicken, duck, menthok and kikil, prices start from Rp 20.000 to Rp 35.000. However, for fish heads, the price starts from Rp 30.000 to Rp 100.000, depending on what type of fish you are choosing.

The most sought after menu by visitors is snapper head and spicy chicken. Unfortunately, this menu is not always available. “That is a menu that only exists a few times a week. But it always runs out quickly,” explained the owner.

Now, Warung Pedas Tangkilsari also provides several new menus, namely grilled menus such as grilled fish, grilled chicken, and grilled ribs.
Open from 09.00 to 21.00 WIB, Warung Pedas Tangkilsari is never empty of visitors. Weekends are the right time for travelers and culinary hunters to try the typical and popular dishes at this warung.
For information, if you want to visit Warung Pedas Tangkilsari, you can come on weekdays so you can be more flexible because it avoids being full of visitors on Saturdays and Sundays.(*)
