TIMES HONGKONG, JAKARTAMeta, in collaboration with Cretivox, recently conducted a survey among nearly 10,000 users of Meta's social media platforms in Indonesia, aged between 15 to 30, spanning various provinces across the nation. The survey, undertaken in February 2024, aimed to delve into the behaviors and preferences of young Indonesian users in the digital realm. Analyzing the data collected shed light on several key insights, delineating the intricate tapestry of young users' interactions within the Meta ecosystem.

The findings underscored the boldness of Indonesian youth in utilizing social media platforms not only for self-expression but also as a channel for advocating social issues. A staggering 87% of respondents acknowledged social media's efficacy in amplifying critical societal concerns, such as voter education and advocacy for causes close to their hearts.

Moreover, social media emerged as a springboard for new opportunities, with 35% of respondents valuing digital connections for the potential avenues they open. Through features like stories, reels, and live streams, users fostered deeper bonds and explored fresh ventures.

The allure of content creators played a significant role, with nearly 65% of young users gravitating towards creators exuding a casual vibe. Concurrently, skincare garnered considerable attention, with over 86.5% viewing it as an indispensable facet of self-care, albeit 42.5% admitting to the challenge of maintaining a consistent skincare regimen.

Beyond the superficial, mental health emerged as a priority, with 42% of respondents aspiring for professional success while prioritizing emotional well-being. Social media served as both a sanctuary and a stress-reliever, although users acknowledged the imperative of striking a balance between virtual engagements and real-world experiences.

Interestingly, while digital platforms provided a plethora of opportunities, young Indonesians exhibited a penchant for exploration beyond the virtual sphere. They cherished outings with friends, culinary escapades, and venturing into uncharted territories. Content creators acted as catalysts for these adventures, inspiring young minds to explore novel destinations.

In essence, the survey highlighted the multifaceted nature of young Indonesian users within the Meta landscape. From advocating societal change to fostering personal growth and exploration, these digital natives epitomize a generation unafraid to chart their own course in the ever-evolving digital realm. (*)
